Company risk score

What a company risk score shows, who looks at it, and how to improve it.

Company risk score

A company risk score summarises your business’s financial standing into a single 0–100 value, accompanied by a status label. Its purpose is to provide a concise, readable answer to the question: “what risk am I taking if I work with this business?”

Why does the score matter?

Lenders are not the only ones who look at a company’s finances. A supplier selling on payment terms, a manufacturer choosing a dealer and a customer working with you for the first time ask the same question: can this company meet its obligations? You ask it too about the companies you work with.

You can see how your own company looks with Firmaskor Credit Score, and check your customers, dealers and suppliers with Firmaskor Company Check. Both give the same 0–100 score and the same report.

What determines the score?

The assessment covers four areas — solvency, debt burden, profitability, and resilience — and the report displays each of them separately. Because the area pulling your score down is stated clearly, you do not have to guess where to focus your efforts.

How do I improve my score?

The process is the same for every business and follows three steps. First, identify which area is pulling the score down; the report states this. Next, make a targeted adjustment for that area that can show results in the short term. Reviewing maturity structures and shortening collection periods are examples of such adjustments. The final step is the one most businesses overlook: measuring again after making the corrections.

Spot financial issues early

The true value of the score lies not in a single measurement, but in its direction. A business that measures regularly identifies deterioration before others do.
