Risk score bands: what do the bands mean?

Reading the score simply as a standalone number is misleading. The difference between 61 and 64 is rarely meaningful; a change in the band, however, is. This is why Firmaskor divides the result into three bands and recommends basing your decision on the band.

What does Safe mean?

The company’s profile allows you to enter discussions without additional preparation. None of the four categories creates significant pressure. In this band, the goal is to maintain the position and review it regularly.

What does Watch mean?

The picture is not bad, but a single category is pulling the result down. Because the issue is concentrated in one area, the correction goes to one place as well.

A common mistake in this band is treating the result as “good enough” and waiting. A Watch profile can quickly drop into the lower band when conditions become slightly more demanding.

What does Risky mean?

There is clear pressure on solvency and debt load. Moving forward without corrective action increases the likelihood of an unfavourable outcome. In this band, priority must be given to a single question: which category is pulling the result down the most?

Why does a company that pays on time see its score drop?

This question comes up often, and the answer tends to surprise people. A company that meets all its payment deadlines can still see its score drop for reasons unrelated to payment history:

  • Its debt load has increased relative to the company's carrying capacity.
  • Collections have slowed down: money is coming in, but it arrives late.
  • Turnover is growing, but profit is not keeping pace.
  • The financial picture fluctuates from year to year.

In other words: paying on time is part of the score, not the whole picture. When the burden carried by the company increases, its profile can weaken even without missed payments.
